How use applets off-line
How to get the off-line version
The PIDlab applets are runnable only from the pidlab.com domain, e.g. you must be connected to Internet. There are two possibilities to obtain the full off-line versions which can be used without internet connection:
- You may fill in the 'Ask applet form'. Then you will get the current version of requested applet to your e-mail (.zip file)
- For permanent full access you must register. After registration, you will get the password via e-mail. Then you can log in and download (.zip) off-line versions of any PIDlab applets, old versions, release notes, etc. The download is available in the applet submenu Downloads and History. Moreover, you will get other advantages.
Installation and running
To run the applets, you have to pass through following steps
- If you don't have Java at your computer, download and install the latest version of JRE from www.java.com (use the 'Free Java Download' button)
- Extract the .zip file to any folder. The zip file contains three items:
- .jar file - the requested applet off-line version
- .html file - the web page containing a code, that will run the .jar applet in your browser
To run the applet, just click at the .html file or run your browser and open the .html file from the File/Open menu.
