PID  CONTROLLER LABORATORY

The first step you have to do is the definition of Process model. If you know the process model from mathematical-physical modeling you can define directly the transfer function. This way is suitable for mechanical or electrical systems. If you are controlling temperature, pressure, flow or concentration you usually don't know the process model but only the physical behavior (e.g. monotone step response). In this case you have to use PID Control Laboratory and define the process by real experimental data (like one sample of frequency response).
